Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch has delivered a sharp message to US President Donald Trump, claiming he was “gravely misled” by Pakistan’s military leadership about who truly owns the natural resources in the region.

In an open letter, Baloch stated that General Asim Munir and Pakistan’s diplomats gave Trump the false impression that enormous reserves of oil, gas, copper, lithium, uranium, and rare earth minerals belong to Pakistan. However, Baloch clarified that these resources actually lie within Balochistan, not in Pakistan’s core territory of Punjab.

He acknowledged Trump’s understanding, writing that “your recognition of the vast oil and mineral reserves in the region is indeed accurate,” but insisted that the US administration had been misinformed by “the Pakistani military leadership, particularly General Asim Munir, and by their diplomatic channels.”

“These Resources Belong to Balochistan, Not Pakistan”

According to Baloch, the mineral-rich lands in question are located in the Republic of Balochistan, which he described as “a historically sovereign nation currently under illegal occupation by Pakistan.” He strongly opposed Pakistan’s claim over the territory, stating it was a “deliberate attempt to misappropriate Balochistan’s wealth for political and financial gain.”

He emphasized that “these untapped reserves” do not exist in Punjab but in Balochistan and rejected the idea that they are Pakistan’s property.

Baloch Warns Against Empowering ISI

Baloch also cautioned that giving Pakistan control over these resources would directly strengthen the ISI, the country’s military intelligence agency. He argued that this could have dangerous consequences for global security. In his words, “such access would significantly enhance the operational and financial capabilities of the ISI,” allowing it to “expand its global terror networks, recruit more militants, and potentially facilitate large-scale attacks reminiscent of 9/11.”

“Our Land Is Not for Sale”

Reaffirming the Baloch people’s stance, Baloch made it clear that their sovereignty is “non-negotiable.” He declared, “we will not permit Pakistan, China, or any other foreign power to exploit our land or its resources without the explicit consent of the Baloch people.” He also stated that their “struggle for rightful ownership and independence continues with dignity and resilience.”

Trump’s Deal with Pakistan Sparks Backlash

This bold letter came in response to Trump’s announcement of a new energy partnership with Pakistan. He posted on Truth Social that “we are in the process of choosing the Oil Company that will lead this Partnership,” suggesting joint efforts to develop Pakistan’s “massive oil reserves.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s largest refinery, Cnergyico, confirmed a deal with Vitol to import 1 million barrels of American oil. According to Usama Qureshi, the company’s vice chairman, the agreement had already been finalized.
