B-2 Bombers Roar Overhead During Trump, Putin’s Three-Hour Alaska Meeting | WATCH

In Alaska, Trump welcomed Putin with a red-carpet ceremony and military show of strength featuring B-2 bombers. Their three-hour summit ended without progress on halting the war, but Putin invited Trump for future discussions in Moscow.

US President Donald Trump welcomed the Russian President Vladimir Putin at the red carpet in Anchorage, Alaska with smiles and a warm handshake for the high0stakes summit. 

The two world leaders met at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson under a banner that reads, 'peursuing Peace'. At the same time, B-2 bombers and F-22 Raptors flew across the sky. Observers believe that the US President wanted to remind Putin of US military power.

Trump waited for the Russian President after deboarding at Air Force. After Putin arrived, the two leaders greeted each other and walked towards the stage with 'Alaska 2025" written on it, with US military aircrafts soaring in the sky.

The did not engage in any conversation with the media, who shouted questions at them. When a reporter questioned Putin if he would stop killing civillians, the Russian president just smirked and pointed at his ear. 

What are B-2 Bombers?

The B-2 Spirit or B-2 stealth bomber, is one of America's most powerful aircrafts for more than 30 years. It first took its flight in 1989, and since then it has been the most formidable and survivable bombers in the world. 

The aircraft is designed to enter dense and sophisticated air defense systems of enemies and hit the target with minimal detection at full capacity. It can fly up to 6,000 nautical miles without refueling. The range can be increased by aerial refueling, enabling long-duration flights at the time of missions.

The B-2 bombers were recently used in June when the United States launched an attack on nuclear sites in Iran, as Tehran was in a conflict with Israel.

The 37-hour non-stop mission was completed with seven B-2 bombers that attacked Iran's nuclear facilities in Fordow, Isfahan, Natanz, and safely returned to Missouri. 

Trump-Putin Meeting

The meeting between Trump and Putin lasted three hours. However, it did not bring any agreement to halting the war. Putin ended up invited Donald Trump for continued discussions in Moscow.

After years of tension between US and Russia, this meeting has proven to be particularly important. 

Trump also mentioned that he will consult with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and NATO leaders, who showed concern about the US leader meeting Putin.
