Radio host Larry Elder launches 2024 US Presidential bid

Conservative talk radio presenter Larry Elder announced his candidature for the Republican presidential ticket as the 2024 US presidential elections drew nearer, according to The Washington Post.

On Thursday, Larry Elder tweeted, “America is in decline, but this decline is not inevitable.” “A new American Golden Age is possible, but we must first find a leader who can lead us there. The message continued, “That’s why I’m running for President,” as Elder declared his candidature.

Elder joins a burgeoning Republican field headed by former president Donald Trump, which also includes software entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson, and former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, reported The Washington Post.
Last week, Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) announced the formation of an exploratory committee; other potential candidates include Governor Ron DeSantis (R) of Florida and ex-Vice President Mike Pence.

According to the Washington Post, Elder listed among other concerns on the website for his impending presidential campaign the need to fight crime, advance racial harmony, deal with inflation, strengthen the economy, and safeguard the border.

Donald Trump, former US president, filed papers to run for president once more in November of last year. According to CNN, he submitted the paperwork proving his eligibility to run for president again in 2024. His announcement was made immediately following the US midterm elections.
