(Adds analyst comment in paragraphs 5-6, graph) STOCKHOLM, Oct 10 (Reuters) - Swedish gross domestic product expanded by 1.1% in August from July, data from the statistics office showed on Friday. Compared to the same month a year earlier, GDP grew 2.4% on a calendar-adjusted basis. Separate data showed that private production rose 0.9% on the month and 3.7% on the year. Industrial production was up 5.1% on the month and 10.6% on the year. Household consumption rose 0.4% in August compared to July and 2.5% from the same month in 2024. "Although we take today's readings with a pinch of salt, they suggest that growth is picking up more than expected already this year," Nordea said in a note. "Coupled with the easing of monetary policy and the expansionary fiscal policy, forecasts for GDP will be revised upwards for next year," it added. The economy has been sluggish so far this year despite a series of rate cuts by the central bank, the last of which it made in September. The Riksbank said then that the cut to 1.75% was likely the last in an easing cycle that began in spring 2024 when the policy rate was at 4.0%. It expects growth this year of 0.9% and 2.7% in 2026.
