On Thursday, King Charles III has officially revoked Prince Andrew’s royal titles and asked him to vacate the Royal Lodge in Windsor. This comes with the continuous controversy over Andrew’s association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Reports say Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson will move to Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, which is a property privately owned by the King.

Where is Sandringham Estate?

Sandringham Estate is situated in the tranquil countryside of Norfolk, approximately 100 miles north of London. It comprises about 20,000 acres of woods, farms and the magnificent Sandringham House. The estate has been a private royal residence for over 150 years, providing a retreat for generations of monarchs.

What is the Residence’s Historical Significance

Sandringham remains steeped in sentimental significance among the royals, having been the former residence of both King George V and King George VI, where both passed away on the estate. It is still used today as a winter retreat by the Windsors and the royal family customarily spends Christmas on the estate.
