A 41-year-old male caused mid-air anxiety on board easyJet Flight EZY609 on Sunday, July 27, having purportedly made bomb threats and political chants, to which quick intervention followed from other travelers and authorities.
The flight, which took off from London Luton Airport around 7:00 am and was en route to Glasgow, witnessed chaos about an hour after departure. According to The Sun, the disturbance began when the man emerged from the aircraft’s lavatory and shouted:
“I’m going to bomb the plane,” “Death to America, death to Trump,” and repeatedly chanted “Allahu Akbar (God is Great in Arabic).”

Quick-Thinking Passenger Restrains Suspect
A male passenger immediately subdued the suspect to the floor and held him under control for the rest of the flight. The order was kept on board while the pilot proceeded with the flight without declaring an emergency diversion.
After the safe landing of the aircraft at Glasgow Airport, police took over the plane and arrested the man. His name has not been released yet. The investigation continues, and officials are reviewing all the motives that might be involved.
The attack has caused a stir because of its timing, US President Donald Trump was in Scotland and residing at his Turnberry golf course. Although unverified, this has fueled rumors regarding the suspect’s motivations and whether the attack had political motivations.
