A stabbing attack on a business site in Southwark, central London, on Monday killed two men and injured two others, including the suspect, as confirmed by the police.

The Metropolitan Police said one of the victims, a 58-year-old man, died at the scene. A second victim, 27, died in hospital shortly after.

Police apprehended a male in his 30s in relation to the attack. He is being kept under medical attention in critical condition. Another man was taken into hospital, although officials state that his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

No Terrorism Involvement

Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond describing the incident explained that police are not investigating the stabbings as terror related.

Our investigation is preliminary and we are working diligently to determine the complete circumstances of this horrific incident,” stated Bond. “At this juncture, we do not suspect it to be terrorism-related and there is no additional risk to the public.”

Ongoing Investigation

Police have not released the names of the victims or the suspect. They have not released any information as to what type of business was involved where the attack occurred.

The investigation is ongoing as officers work to sort out what set off the violent rampage in one of London’s most busy areas.
