Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are a globally recognized couple known for their humanitarian work, media projects, and their decision to step back from their roles as working members of the British royal family in 2020. They currently reside in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie and Lilibet. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, usually keep their children away from the public eye, stepped out with them for a special charity event in Los Angeles marking the siblings’ first appearance at such an outing.
Meghan captioned her Instagram story with the foundation’s slogan “Show Up, Do Good.” On the Archewell website, a post titled Honouring the Season through Service reaffirmed the couple’s aim of “putting compassion into action serving and uplifting communities locally and globally”. It added, “As we head into the holiday season, we celebrate those working every day to ensure that no one is left behind and where the needs of our neighbors are met.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined their children to help prepare and pack meals for people facing food insecurity before the Thanksgiving holiday. Meghan posted a slideshow on Instagram showing Archie and Lilibet eagerly taking part in the day’s activities.
At Our Big Kitchen, the family worked alongside staff and volunteers, baking cookies, chopping vegetables and packing meal boxes.
One photo showed Lilibet standing beside Meghan with her back to the camera, her long auburn hair neatly braided.
Another picture captured Archie in a black hat, rolling cookie dough next to Prince Harry.
The children’s faces were intentionally kept partially hidden.
Members of the Archewell Foundation, the couple’s charity organisation, also took part. Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles, a community-run centre, distributes over 70,000 meals annually to schools, shelters and senior homes.
The Archewell Foundation is a U.S.-based non-profit charitable organization founded by Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, in 2020. The foundation's name is derived from the Ancient Greek word "arche," meaning "source of action," and the English word "well"
Despite occasionally sharing family moments, Meghan remains careful about protecting her children’s identities and avoids revealing their full faces. Since stepping back from royal duties and settling in the US, the Sussexes have prioritised guarding Archie and Lilibet’s privacy from birth.
