The famous Brick Lane Curry Festival is coming back after almost a decade. The event will take place from September 19 to 21 in East London. Known for its legendary curry houses, Brick Lane now wants to win back its title as the “Curry Capital of the UK.”
The festival is not just about eating curry. Visitors will get to enjoy many cultural activities. The first two days will have free workshops like henna painting, Bangla dance classes, and shopping events. There will also be plenty of tasty street food stalls serving snacks and curries.
Big Day on September 21
The main celebration will be on September 21. A colourful parade will move from Buxton Street to the Brick Lane Arch with floats, dancers, and music. Local restaurants will serve a wide range of delicious regional curries and dishes.

Apart from food, there will be cooking shows, graffiti art, DJs, stilt-walkers, magicians, and live music. The streets will be full of colour, sound, and excitement.
Brick Lane’s Rich History
Brick Lane has always been known for its mix of cultures. It is famous for its curry restaurants, street art, and vintage shops. Since the first curry houses opened in the mid-20th century, the street has been a centre of South Asian food in London.
The Curry Festival is a way to honour that history and also celebrate the future of this lively area.
