Turkey seeks international help, PM Modi among top leaders to express condolences for deaths

A deadly earthquake in Turkey has claimed more than 500 lives, and the death toll is expected to rise. World leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, sent their condolences to Turkey and Syria. The massive earthquake shook both nations.

Turkey has declared a level 4 alert, which means a global request for help. The Turkish government has appealed to the international community to send aid immediately because the situation is grim and getting out of control.

Turkey needs relief and assistance as the magnitude 7.8 earthquake has created havoc in the entire nation. Seeing the gravity of the situation, Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) urged the international community to send relief and help at the earliest possible.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first world leaders to condole the loss of lives and property due to the devastating earthquakes that occurred in Turkey and Syria on Monday.

The loss of lives and property in Turkey as a result of the tremor was painful, according to Prime Minister Modi. Condolences to the families who have lost loved ones, and speedy recovery to those who have been injured. India has been standing with the people of Turkey in this difficult time.

The US National Security Advisor also tweeted to reassure Turkey that all necessary assistance would be provided. He tweeted, “The US is deeply shocked by today’s deadly earthquake in Turkey & Syria.” I have been monitoring the situation and will provide much needed assistance.

Nepal’s Prime Minister Prushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda was also shocked by the huge number of deaths caused by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria on Monday.

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and many other world leaders condoled over the deaths and casualties that occurred in Turkey due to a massive earthquake.
