Trump to Release Classified Documents on Kennedy and King Assassinations

President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he will release classified documents related to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. in the coming days.

“In the coming days, we are going to make public remaining records related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other topics of great public interest,” Trump said at the “Make America Great Again” rally in Washington, D.C.

No Specifics on Released Documents

However, Trump did not provide details on which documents will be made available. Furthermore, he did not promise a full declassification of all relevant files.

Previous Document Releases

In his first term, Trump released 2,800 documents regarding JFK’s assassination. Nevertheless, he blocked the release of additional files due to pressure from the CIA and FBI, citing national security concerns.

Campaign Promise to Release More Files

During his campaign, Trump had vowed to release more intelligence and law enforcement documents related to JFK’s 1963 assassination. This event has remained a focal point for widespread conspiracy theories in the U.S.

Conspiracy Theories and Family Involvement

While federal agencies continue to assert that JFK was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, many Americans still believe the assassination was part of a broader conspiracy.

Notably, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s nominee for the Department of Health and Human Services, has publicly stated that the CIA was involved in his uncle’s assassination. The CIA has, however, denied this claim. Additionally, Kennedy believes his father, Robert F. Kennedy, was killed by multiple gunmen, a theory that contradicts official reports.
