Donald Trump is back in the White House after four years. Almost immediately, he made changes to his residence, including the Oval Office, following his inauguration as the 47th president.

Changes to the Oval Office

These changes are part of the traditional “Moving Day” customs when the Bidens move out and the Trumps move in. The revamped Oval Office was unveiled shortly after Trump completed his swearing-in ceremony.

So, what does Trump’s Oval Office look like now? Is it different from the one during his first term?

Andrew Jackson’s Return

To begin with, Trump has brought back a portrait of Andrew Jackson, which he had displayed in 2017. Jackson was a significant figure in U.S. history, having served in both the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. He also earned the nickname “Old Hickory” due to his strength and resilience. However, when Trump first placed Jackson’s portrait in the Oval Office, it sparked controversy. Artist Charles Rencountre commented, “It’s just disturbing.”

New Portraits and Busts

In addition to Jackson, Trump has now added a portrait of George Washington, positioned alongside portraits of Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. This is a strategic addition to highlight these key figures in American history.

Moreover, Trump has returned a bust of Winston Churchill, which was initially gifted to George W. Bush. The bust now rests in the same place it occupied before Biden’s presidency. Furthermore, the bust of Martin Luther King Jr. continues to remain in the Oval Office.

Removal of Robert F. Kennedy’s Bust

In an ironic twist, Trump has removed the bust of Robert F. Kennedy, which Biden had prominently displayed. This move stands in contrast to Biden’s ongoing efforts to appoint Kennedy’s son, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., to his Cabinet.
