US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that he played a key role in ending several major international conflicts—including tensions between India and Pakistan.
On Sunday, Trump took to Truth Social to respond to radio host and author Charlamagne Tha God. He criticized the host for being unaware of his foreign policy accomplishments. Trump posted, “Like just ending 5 Wars, including a 31 year bloodbath between Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, where Seven Million people have died, and there was no end in sight.”
Trump continued listing what he believed to be his achievements. He added, “He didn’t know that, or India and Pakistan or, wiping out Iran’s nuclear capabilities, or closing the horrendous open Border, or creating the greatest economy.”
India-Pakistan Ceasefire
Earlier on May 10, Trump had claimed that he personally led negotiations which resulted in a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. According to him, both countries agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire after what he described as a “long night” of US-led talks.
White House Pushes for Nobel Peace Prize
Trump’s recent remarks follow a strong statement from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. She called for Trump to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, saying he deserved recognition for helping resolve global disputes.
Leavitt mentioned that Trump had contributed to ending conflicts in multiple areas: Thailand and Cambodia, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, and Egypt and Ethiopia.
She emphasized, “It’s well past time that President Trump was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize,” and claimed that he successfully negotiated “one peace deal every month” during his six months in office.
