Who is Rodrigo Paz?

Rodrigo Paz Pereira (58) is a Bolivian politician who serves as the senator for Tarija. He is the son of Jaime Paz Zamora, the former President of Bolivia (1989-1993). Born in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, Paz's family lived in exile due to Bolivia’s military dictatorship. Paz studied at San Ignacio School in Spain and later earned a degree from American University in Washington. He represents the Christian Democratic Party with his centre-right leaning values. His centrist policies that focused on maintaining social programs while promoting economic growth through the private sector won him the confidence of the Bolivian people.
