A powerful explosion inside the District Judicial Complex in Islamabad, Pakistan, left at least 12 people injured on Tuesday (November 11). The blast occurred in vehicles parked within the court premises, causing panic and chaos in the high-security area.

Blast Inside Islamabad Judicial Complex

According to local media reports, the explosion took place around mid-morning when court activities were in full swing. The sound of the blast was heard across several nearby areas, prompting an immediate evacuation of the building.

Police officials confirmed that the explosion originated from a parked car inside the court’s parking lot. Rescue teams and bomb disposal units rushed to the site soon after the incident. The area has been completely sealed off, and the injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals.

Eyewitnesses said the blast caused several vehicles to catch fire. “There was a loud explosion, and people started running for cover. The parking area was filled with smoke,” said a witness outside the complex.

Police, Bomb Squad Launch Probe

Law enforcement agencies and bomb disposal experts are investigating the cause of the explosion. Initial assessments suggest that an explosive device may have been planted inside one of the vehicles.

An Islamabad police spokesperson said, “We are conducting a detailed forensic analysis of the site. The nature of the explosive will be confirmed after the investigation.”

Authorities are also examining CCTV footage from the complex to identify suspicious movements before the blast. Security has been heightened across Islamabad, particularly around government offices and court buildings.

Similar to the Delhi Red Fort Blast

The Islamabad car explosion comes just a day after a similar car blast in India’s capital, New Delhi, which killed at least eight people near the Red Fort area. Although no connection between the two incidents has been officially established, the timing has raised concerns about cross-border security and possible coordinated threats.

Security analysts in Pakistan have warned that such back-to-back incidents could indicate a new wave of targeted attacks in South Asian capitals.

“The Islamabad blast happening within 24 hours of the Delhi explosion is alarming. Authorities must look into any possible links or common patterns,” said a retired security official on a local news channel.

Tension and Security Measures in Islamabad

The explosion has once again highlighted security vulnerabilities in Pakistan’s capital, which houses several key government institutions and diplomatic offices. Police have increased patrolling in sensitive zones, while the Interior Ministry has ordered all public institutions to strengthen entry checks and vehicle screening.

Citizens have been advised to remain alert and avoid crowded public areas. Hospitals have also been put on standby in case of further emergencies. As investigations continue, officials have not ruled out the possibility of terrorism. The final forensic report is expected in the next 48 hours.
