Poonch, July 18: In a significant action against drug trafficking, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday recovered five packets of suspected narcotics and arrested a man during a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
Official sources said the recovery was made in village Kosalyain near the border fence in Haveli tehsil when NCB personnel launched a search operation in the area. During the operation, the team intercepted and apprehended a local resident identified as Maneer Hussain, son of Sain.
Upon checking, officials recovered five packets containing suspected narcotic substances from his possession.
The accused has been taken into custody and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of law. Investigators are now probing the source of the contraband and its intended destination.
Officials said further investigation is underway to uncover any possible links to a wider drug trafficking network operating in the region.
