Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has urged all Muslim nations to cut their political and trade relations with Israel. He said this is necessary to confront what he described as Israel’s “catastrophic crimes” during the ongoing Gaza offensive.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned that remaining silent or continuing cooperation with Israel amounts to complicity.

Khamenei Criticizes Israel & US

Khamenei accused Israel of committing “numerous crimes and astonishing catastrophes without any sense of shame.” He added, “Although these crimes are carried out with the support of a power like the United States, the way to confront this situation is not closed.” He described Israel as the “most isolated and hated” regime in the world.

The Supreme Leader emphasized that Muslim nations must act together. He called on governments to use diplomatic and economic measures to pressure Israel and support the Palestinian cause. According to Khamenei, cutting off trade and political ties is a clear step to show solidarity with oppressed Palestinians.

Unity & Responsibility for the Muslim World

Khamenei shared these remarks on his X profile after meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and cabinet members on August 7. He said Muslim countries should reflect the will of their people, who are “outraged by the situation.” Silence, he warned, could be seen as support for Israel’s actions.

He also praised Pezeshkian’s recent trip to China, calling it a move that “laid the groundwork for major developments, both economically and politically.”

Avoiding “No War, No Peace”

The Iranian leader highlighted a major concern for his own country. He said, “The enemy wants to impose a 'no war, no peace' situation on Iran. One of the harms and dangers facing the country is precisely this state of 'no war, no peace,' which is not good.”

Khamenei urged the government to strengthen Iran’s core pillars of power, including national unity, hope, public spirit, and motivation. He stressed that these values must be actively nurtured through both words and actions.

Economic Focus & Public Well-Being

Khamenei urged the Iranian leadership to focus on improving the country's economy and people's well-being above politics. To lift the nation out of stagnation, he advocated cultivating a strong work ethic and an optimistic mindset.

Khamenei’s Call to Action

Khamenei’s message is clear, and that is, Muslim countries need to serve their connections with Israel, show support for the Palestinian people, and take serious action. He called for a coordinated response to persistent regional tensions and connected this to both local resiliency and foreign diplomacy.
