Set to launch in January, the app allows users to quickly alert their families and the nearest Mexican consulate if they are detained. The app is a significant part of Mexico’s “Know Your Rights” program. This program provides legal and emergency support to migrants in need. Furthermore, Mexico’s Foreign Secretary, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, revealed that 329 legal advisors are stationed at 53 consulates across the US. In addition to these advisors, the government is working with consultants and law firms to offer further assistance.
