Arindam Bagchi, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs, condemned the vandalism of a Hindu temple in Windsor, Canada on Thursday, and said that MEA is in contact with the Indian consulate.
The MEA spokesperson told reporters on Thursday, “We will continue to insist that action be taken against the perpetrators. They have been discovered and are being prosecuted. Measures to prevent such occurrences are also essential.”

“We want these incidents to stop, we want action, and we want to make sure that the Indian community’s places of worship are safe,” Arindam Bagchi added.

“This matter has been taken up with Canadian authorities to apprehend the perpetrator and ensure that this does not happen again,” he added.
Arindam Bagchi clarified India’s position on recent vandalism incidents at Indian consulates and high commissions, saying, “It (vandalism) has happened in a couple of places. We have made it abundantly clear to our host governments what actions we anticipate from them in terms of what they must do. We have contacted the host administrations. We had expressed our concerns about the protection of our facilities and the safety of our employees.”

“What matters is that action is taken rather than assurances,” he added.
A Hindu shrine in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, was vandalized with anti-India graffiti, according to Windsor police.
