Royal Family Mourns The Loss Of Lord Robert Fellowes At 82

Lord Robert Fellowes, former Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth II and uncle to Princes William and Harry, has passed away at the age of 82. He died on Monday, July 29, with the cause of death yet to be disclosed.

Lord Fellowes was married to Lady Jane Fellowes, the sister of the late Princess Diana, making him an integral part of the royal family. Charles Spencer, brother of Princess Diana, confirmed his death on social media, praising Lord Fellowes as a man of “humour, wisdom & utter integrity.”

Lord Fellowes is survived by his wife, Lady Jane Fellowes, and their three children: Laura Jane Fellowes, Alexander Robert Fellowes, and Eleanor Ruth Fellowes. Laura Jane Fellowes is also Princess Charlotte’s godmother.

Serving Queen Elizabeth II from 1990 to 1999, Lord Fellowes played a crucial role during significant events, including the separation of Princess Diana and Prince Charles and the divorce of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. He was later named a life peer and held the title of Baron Fellowes of Shotesham in Norfolk.

Despite leaving royal duties, his contributions and presence remained influential within the royal family. Funeral plans have not been disclosed.
