Indian Ambassador Engages Ivano-Frankivsk: Meets Governor

Harsh Jain, the Indian ambassador to Ukraine, visited Ivano-Frankivsk on Tuesday and had meetings with the city’s Indian diaspora as well as governor Svitlana Onyshchuk.
Additionally, the Indian ambassador went to the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, where he spoke with Roman Yatsyshyn, the university’s rector, and engaged with the Indian students.

The Indian embassy in Ukraine shared on X the following: “Amb. Harsh Jain visited Ivano-Frankivsk on April 16. He met Governor Svitlana Onyshchuk, Rector of Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University Roman Yatsyshyn, interacted with the Indian students and met with the members of Indian diaspora in the city. @MEAIndia @IndianDiplomacy.”

Last month, during the visit of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to New Delhi, India and Ukraine engaged in discussions on a range of regional and global issues, with a particular focus on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and efforts toward achieving a peaceful resolution. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted this dialogue, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic efforts in conflict resolution.

During his visit, Minister Kuleba met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Deputy National Security Adviser Vikram Misri. The meeting between Jaishankar and Kuleba, held on Friday, was centered on enhancing constructive dialogue and bolstering bilateral relations between India and Ukraine. This encompassed various sectors such as trade, investment, science and technology, defense, agriculture, health, culture, and education.

The discussions also delved into matters pertaining to the India-Ukraine Inter-Governmental Commission, which covers trade, economic, scientific, technical, industrial, and cultural cooperation through its working groups. Both sides agreed on the importance of these mechanisms in deepening collaboration and fostering mutual growth.

Additionally, there was consensus between New Delhi and Kyiv on the necessity of convening the seventh Inter-Governmental Commission meeting later this year, underscoring the commitment of both nations to furthering their multifaceted partnership across various domains.
