Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Poland, announced a significant social security agreement between India and Poland, marking a strengthening of ties between the two nations. He emphasized the growing cooperation in fields like technology and clean energy and highlighted the cultural connection through Kabaddi, as Poland prepares to host its first Kabaddi Championship. Addressing the Indian community in Warsaw, Modi shared, “Innovation and youth are going to give energy to the development of both nations,” adding that the social security agreement would benefit many Indians living in Poland.
Modi underscored the global influence of India’s values and culture, referring to the ancient concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family) and reiterated India’s global vision during its G20 leadership, focusing on “One Earth, One Family, and One Future.” He also pointed to the thriving partnership between India and Poland, mentioning his upcoming meetings with Polish leaders, including President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk, aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties.
Highlighting the shared democratic values between India and Poland, Modi praised the electoral processes in both countries. He spoke of India’s vast democratic exercise, citing the recent elections where over 640 million Indians cast their votes, a remarkable achievement in democracy. He also acknowledged the role of Kabaddi as a bridge between the two nations, congratulating Poland on its Kabaddi success and the upcoming championship.
The Prime Minister outlined India’s ambitious goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, reflecting on significant progress in areas like poverty alleviation, infrastructure development, digital inclusion, and broadband expansion. He highlighted India’s achievements, including building millions of homes, opening 500 million bank accounts, and pioneering advancements in digital transactions, 5G technology, and public transportation.
Modi projected India’s growing economic power, with the country poised to become the third-largest economy, driven by innovation in areas such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, green energy, and manufacturing. He stressed the importance of balancing economic growth with ecological responsibility, citing India’s rapid adoption of electric vehicles and its commitment to green hydrogen.
