Imran Khan’s Party Members Arrested In Islamabad For Resisting Encroachment Operation

In Islamabad, police issued orders to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party members who resisted an anti-encroachment operation, as reported by ARY News. Additional police forces were called to the site of the operation.

The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) anti-encroachment team initiated the operation on Thursday to remove illegal construction and encroachments. This led to the demolition of a portion of PTI’s head office, according to ARY News.

During the operation, the CDA team, along with the district administration, sealed the PTI party’s head office. CDA officials mentioned that under this drive, illegal constructions of political party offices were being addressed. The PTI office plot, allocated to an individual named Sartaj Ali, was under scrutiny.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan criticized the CDA’s actions, stating that they lacked a permit for the operation and had not issued any notices in the past two years. He emphasized that the government had violated the sanctity of a political party’s office, comparing it to a respected institution like parliament.

In response, PTI Islamabad condemned the government’s actions, accusing them of invading the country’s largest political party’s premises during the night. They reiterated their commitment to not bowing down to intimidation or lawlessness and expressed determination to uphold their agenda.

The PTI Chairman also asserted that there were no illegal constructions on their premises.
