Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he is ready to meet the Russian President Vladimir Putin, but only after his country gets a clear guarantee of security measures. He mentioned Switzerland, Turkey, and Austria as possible venues.

“We want to have an understanding of the security guarantees architecture within 7-10 days. And based on that understanding, we aim to hold a trilateral meeting, also with US President Donald Trump,” Zelenskyy said.

He further added, “Switzerland, Austria, we agree…For us, Turkey is a NATO country and part of Europe. And we are not opposed.”

The Ukrainian President met Donald Trump and other European leaders at a press conference in Washington on Monday to find a pathway to ending the three-year-long war with Russia. The meeting followed the Alaska summit between Trump and Putin, held a few days earlier to discuss the same issue.

The Alaska summit ended with ‘little progress’ as no announcement of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
