A Russian drone strike on Ukraine killed at least five people. The drones struck a five-storey apartment block in Kharkiv on Monday, as reported by the Ukrainian officials. Over a dozen residents were injured, and the five deceased included a 1.5-year-old girl.
The attack happened just before dawn and destroyed parts of the building, sparking fire, regional governor Oleg Synegubov said on Telegram. The drone attack left 18 people wounded and several in shock.
Ukraine’s state emergency service released videos that shows firefighters rescuing trapped individuals who were engulfed in flames across several floors. “Five people were killed, including a girl aged about one-and-a-half years old,” the prosecution service confirmed.

The strike follows the ballistic missile attack on Kharkiv that left 11 people injured, Mayor Igor Terekhov said. Russian drones also targeted the souther Odesa region, igniting a fire at a fuel facility, as per governor Oleg Kiper.
Trump-Zelensky Talks in Washington
The attacks took place as Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky reaches Washington to meet US President Donald Trump and European leaders to look for a pathway to end the war with Russia.
Trump urged Zelensky to agree to a peace deal but ruled out Ukraine joining NATO, or reclaiming Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014. Zelensky has repeatedly denied the demands to give up Crimea.

“President Zelenskyy of Ukraine can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants to, or he can continue to fight. Remember how it started. No getting back Obama given Crimea (12 years ago, without a shot being fired!), and NO GOING INTO NATO BY UKRAINE. Some things never change!!!” Trump said.
