Elon musk swaps twitter blue bird logo to ‘Doge,’ why?

Elon musk makes a big swap of logo for the microblogging platform as he replaces the twitter blue bird logo to the popular ‘Doge’ meme of the cryptocurrency on Tuesday.

The ‘Doge’ meme is appearing on the top left corner of twitter home screen on the Web version. This is the latest change since Mr Musk bought the microblogging platform for $44 billion last November.

As soon as the logo changed more and more people started questioning it. Once again Mr Musk expressed his take on the move in the most humorous way. He posted two tweets presenting his take on the big move.

The first tweet depicts the ‘Doge’ meme’s face riding in a car while a police officer allegedly checks the driving license, which shows the ‘old’ blue bird logo on the license.

Doge tells the cop “That’s an old photo”.

Then, in a second tweet, Mr. Musk posted a screenshot of an old interaction with a user in which the user requested that he “purchase Twitter and replace the bird logo to a doge.” He said in the tweet it’s done “as promised”.

The official account of Dogecoin also reacted to the change in its own famous way and wrote, “Very currency. Wow. Much Coin. How Money. So Crypto.”
But why ‘doge’ logo?

The reason for changing the bird into a dog logo can be the popularity of the’ Doge’ meme. It is an internet meme that started becoming popular in 2013 which typically consists of a picture of Kabosu, a Shiba Inu dog. The Shiba Inu had a notable presence in popular culture in late 2013, including a cryptocurrency based on Doge named Dogecoin. Several online polls and media outlets recognized Doge as one of the best internet memes of the 2010s.

In February, Musk had shared a picture of the ‘Doge’ posing as the Twitter boss adding that the ‘new CEO is amazing.’
