US President Donald Trump will officially be sworn in as the 47th President on Monday. The ceremony will take place at the United States Capitol Rotunda in Washington DC.
Inauguration Schedule
The event will begin with a service at St John’s Church in Washington DC. Guests are required to arrive independently by 5:30 pm (IST), as the gates will close at 6:00 pm (IST). Following this, musical performances and opening remarks will kick off at 10:30 pm (IST).
Swearing-In Ceremony
After the cultural events, Trump will take the oath of office. He will swear on two Bibles—one used by Abraham Lincoln during his 1861 inauguration, and another gifted by his mother in 1955.
Official Transition
This inauguration marks the official transition between presidencies. The incoming president will read the oath: “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
