Ghising is best known as the former head of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). He won national fame for ending the long hours of power cuts in Kathmandu Valley, a problem that had crippled businesses and households for years.

Ghising began his career at the NEA in 1994 as an electrical engineer. Over time, he worked in both technical and administrative positions, especially in hydropower projects.

In September 2016, he was appointed as Managing Director of the NEA during a time when Nepal faced up to 18 hours of daily load-shedding. Under his leadership, the NEA introduced reforms, improved efficiency, and boosted power generation. Within a short period, the daily blackouts were eliminated.

This achievement not only improved the daily lives of citizens but also turned NEA into a profitable organization. He was reappointed to the role in August 2021. However, in March 2025, the government dismissed him due to differences with the Energy Minister.
