Aliko Dangote stands close to joining the modern history books as he is the first-ever billionaire from Africa to hit a net worth of $30 billion. According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index as at October 13, 2025, Dangote’s net worth has an impressive $29.6 billion and in August, he had recorded a net worth of $28.9 billion which shows consistent momentum.

Aliko Dangote Born in Nigeria is a self-made entrepreneur whose business empire spans cement, sugar, salt and oil. He founded the Dangote Group, one of Africa’s largest industrial conglomerates with over the decades, Dangote has not redefined African entrepreneurship but has also become a symbol of economic ambition across the continent with his commitment to domestic production and industrialization has played a key role in Nigeria’s economic landscape.

What is Aliko Dangote’s Net Worth

Dangote’s fortune has gone through several storms in tune with broad market fluctuation in May 2023, his wealth was estimated at $20.4 billion, making him 81st in the richest persons in the world as per Bloomberg. This figure increased steeply afterwards to $27.8 billion by October 2024 after a blow mid-year to $13.8 billion from market shocks by January 2025, his value hovered at $28.1 billion-the value declined slightly before it later rose back up to $29.3 billion in August.

Currently, in 2025 alone, he has recorded an increase of over $1.5 billion, leaving only $400 million for him to cross the historic $30 billion mark.

A greater part of the increase in wealth arises from Dangote Cement, the foundation of his wealth. A major progress attained in 2025, launching a $160 million cement plant in Attingue, Cote d’Ivoire one of the biggest facilities outside Nigeria increases his total African operations to 11 with a combined capacity nearing 55 million tonnes annually.

The other major contributor remains the Dangote Oil Refinery, operational since early October 2023 with the facility is designed for the processing of diesel and jet fuel with approximately 370,000 barrels per day of capacity-an undertaking regarded as one of the most ambitious industrial ventures in Africa. Not only will the refinery guarantee Nigeria’s independence in fuel supplies but it would also further consolidate his financial might.
