Soon after Benjamin Netanyahu emerged victorious in Israel election all set to become the Prime Minister again, 4 rockets were fired from Gaza and as per Israel’s military, one of the 4 missiles was intercepted by the Iron Dome air defence system. Islamic Jihad has allegedly taken the responsibility for the attack apparently in response to the assassination of the commander of the Al-Quds Brigades. No casualties have been reported yet following the attack.

The cities of Kissufim, Ein HaShlosha and Nirim which are close to the Gaza strip were rattled by the sirens as one of the rocket was launched from the strip. As per reported by the military, another three rockets were launched from the Gaza at southern Israel but fell short in the strip. According to the Times of Israel, earlier, a member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad was killed during an Israeli military operation in the West Bank city of Jenin.

This comes after Netanyahu made a comeback and won the race to become the Prime Minister of Israel “We have received a huge vote of confidence and we are on the verge of a very big victory,” Netanyahu addressed his supporters during an early morning speech at a victory rally in Jerusalem.

Israel’s incumbent Prime Minister Yair Lapid also congratulated Netanyahu and instructed all his departments to prepare for an orderly power transfer.

“The State of Israel is above any political consideration. I wish Netanyahu luck for the sake of the people of Israel and the State of Israel,” said, Yair Lapid as reported by Times of Israel.
