‘PM Modi spurs women to upgrade skills to rise in life’

The Conclave was attended by a number of guests including women achievers who were praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Mann ki baat.
Surekha Yadav, India’s first female locomotive pilot said, “I piloted the Vande Bharat train from Solapur to Mumbai on March 13. On March 26, our Prime Minister commended me on my efforts. Surekha Yadav, who drives the Vande Bharat train, is not only India’s but Asia’s first female rail locomotive driver, according to him.
I felt so heartened after hearing his gratitude. He also encouraged all girls to use and improve their skills in order to advance in their respective fields.”
Poonam Nautiyal, of Uttarakhand (Bageswar), who went door-to-door for giving vaccines, said, “I was surprised that the Prime Minister was talking to me. I am extremely grateful to PM for recognising my efforts. I was terrified because my children were young, but I mustered the courage to do this job in order to protect our country. My father served in the armed services, and we needed to give back to society, so I became a nurse to help our country.” Usha Chomar, a swatch campaigner, stated, “My life was not going so well. It was the first PM who moved and empowered women in such a way, and I am privileged to receive Padam Shri.” There is no such thing as a tiny or large job. When I went to tie Rakhi on PM, he showed me reverence. Many ladies have been empowered by “SULABH.”
Babita Rajput, a water conservationist, said, “Our district’s main worry was the water crisis. It was believed that if we saved rainwater, the water problem would be solved. We have taken several measures to solve this water crisis issue. A 107-meter-high slope was cut down to save water.”
