The first female ticket inspector to charge passengers more than one crore rupees in penalties has been praised by the railway ministry. Rosaline Arokia Mary, a chief ticket inspector for Southern Railway, has racked up fines from unticketed passengers totaling 1.03 crore.
The ticket checker received accolades from the Railway Ministry on Twitter. The image depicts Ms. Mary inspecting and collecting fines from travellers’ tickets.
The caption of the post reads, “Showing resolute commitment to her duties, Smt. Rosaline Arokia Mary, CTI (Chief Ticket Inspector) of @GMSRailway, becomes the first woman on the ticket-checking staff of Indian Railways to collect fines of ₹ 1.03 crore from irregular/non-ticketed travellers.”
