A local court on Tuesday sentenced a woman and her paramour to life in jail for the brutal killings of her husband, three sons, and a nephew.
Sandhya alias Santosh and her lover Hanuman were found guilty in the case on Monday, and today Additional District and Sessions Judge (No. 2) Renu Srivastava sentenced them to life in prison, according to Assistant Public Prosecutor Ashok Sharma.
According to him, the punishment imposed under other IPC sections will also be carried out concurrently with the life sentence that the court awarded for the crime of murder.
The accused woman, her lover, and two other people are suspected of slicing the throats of her husband Banwari Lal (45), three sons, and a nephew on the night between 2 and 3 October 2017.
Sandhya was in an extramarital affair with Hanuman, ten years younger than her. They wanted to live together and, therefore, they eliminated her husband and other family members when they were asleep.
Along with her three sons, her nephew who was staying with them was also murdered, investigating officer Vinod Samaria said.
