Under the leadership of Police Station Incharge Sector 14, Yogvindra Singh, and Police Post Sector 16 Incharge Gurpal Singh, a female suspect was apprehended in a case of fraud involving a bank loan of Rs 4.91 lakh obtained by presenting fake gold. The arrested individual was identified as Suman, a resident of Mauli Jangra Complex, Chandigarh.
According to the information available, the aforementioned woman, along with her accomplice, applied for a gold loan by pledging 152.46 grams of gold to the bank.
The bank approved a loan of Rs 4.91 lakh and disbursed it to the accused Suman through a Paiso account.
However, when the bank inspected the pledged gold after a missed installment, it was discovered to be fake. Upon receiving this information, the bank filed a case at Police Station Sector 14 Panchkula. Subsequent actions were taken, leading to the arrest of the female suspect involved.
The arrested individual was presented before the court and placed on police remand for 3 days. During the remand, the female suspect underwent interrogation, leading to the arrest of another individual involved in this case.
