Outside the Bombay High Court building in Fort, a 34-year-old woman, Afsana Abbas Ali Khatoon, was arrested for allegedly biting into the thumb of woman constable Nikita Kadam (attached to the Local Arms Division) during a confrontation.
The Azad Maidan police detained Khatoon, who was subsequently produced in court and remanded to judicial custody. The altercation occurred when Khatoon, seeking to enter the court premises, resisted the routine security check and bit the constable’s left thumb. Despite being overpowered, Khatoon continued to be confrontational and uncooperative, requiring restraint even during a check-up at JJ Hospital.
