India on Thursday was recorded with 6,395 fresh infections of COVID-19. The cases were slightly higher as compared to the day before, i.e., on Wednesday, the total number of cases that came was 5,379. India’s total tally of people infected with COVID-19 is 44,478,636 now.

As per the data received by the Union Health Ministry, the active caseload in the country is 50,342, accounting for 0.11 percent of the total cases. The weekly positivity rate is 1.88 percent, while the daily positivity rate is 1.96 percent.

According to the data, the country’s recovery rate stands at 98.7 percent. A total of 4,39,00,204 people have been recovered so far, out of which 6,614 have been recovered in the last 24 hours.

According to the official data, 88.83 crore samples have been tested since the beginning of the pandemic and 3,25,602 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours.

Also, India’s vaccination coverage has reached the 214.27 crore-mark, out of which 17.49 crore are precaution (booster) doses. In the last 24 hours, 36,31,977 people have been administered the vaccine doses.
