During a visit to Apple Park this week, Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed high admiration for 22-year-old Indian young developer Akshat Srivastava. The young coder from Varanasi impressed Cook during an interaction as the tech giant hosted developers and tech enthusiasts at its campus.
Akshat Srivastava began his journey as a coder in his teenage years and has now caught the attention of one of the world’s leading tech companies. Cook, reflecting on his experiences with developers from India, remarked, “I met so many extraordinary developers when I visited India last year, and I saw so much excitement for the many ways that technology can enrich people’s lives. And it was equally wonderful to meet Akshat this week, and see how he’s created a whole new way to share his love of classic games with the next generation.”
Srivastava’s standout project, which brought him into the limelight, is an app called MindBud. Inspired by moments shared with his nephew, Akshat developed a platform that offers classic games and activities for children. MindBud features four engaging mini-games designed specifically for kids, blending entertainment with cognitive development.
For his submission to the Swift Students Challenge, Akshat utilized several Apple tools, including SwiftUI, AVKit (for audio), PencilKit, and FileManager. His innovative use of these tools not only showcased his technical skills but also his creativity in app development. Reports indicate that Akshat plans to publish MindBud on the App Store soon, making his work accessible to a broader audience.
