WhatsApp is introducing a feature aimed at enhancing user experience. According to WABetaInfo, the app owned by Meta has begun the rollout of a new feature that allows users to respond quickly to instant video messages.
According to the report, the functionality is currently accessible to Android beta testers and can be used in version 2.24.14.5 of the application.
Users can now share recorded personal video messages between chats without needing to recreate them.
In the latest beta versions of the app, some testers may notice a new shortcut next to video messages. This streamlines the reply process, allowing users to respond swiftly to specific video messages.
Previously, they had to manually open the message menu or use a gesture to reply before recording a new video. With this feature, replying to video messages is now quicker and more convenient—you can instantly respond with a video message by tapping the shortcut.
“The ability to reply to video messages through the new shortcut offers significant advantages, including increased efficiency and improved user experience. By allowing quicker replies, users can record and send their video notes immediately, maintaining the flow of conversation without interruptions,” adds the report.
WhatsApp has been developing other features as well. Reportedly, the Meta-owned platform is launching a new preview option for status updates. This feature is designed to offer a more organized and visually attractive way to preview updates.
Its new status update preview feature now displays a thumbnail on the right side of the screen for channel followers, maintaining an uncluttered updates tab with a horizontal layout.
For users not following channels, a vertical list shows redesigned thumbnails alongside profile photos, addressing previous issues where profile photos were obscured by previews, and simplifying contact identification.
