Hemant Soren Takes Oath As 14th CM Of Jharkhand

Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Thursday in a grand ceremony attended by several prominent political leaders

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 49-year-old leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha

This marks Soren's fourth stint as Chief Minister. He retained the Barhait seat in the recent assembly elections, defeating BJP's Gamliyel Hembrom by a margin of 39,791 votes

The JMM-led alliance secured a comfortable majority with 56 seats in the 81-member assembly, while the BJP-led NDA won 24 seats

Top leaders, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, attended the event

Ahead of the ceremony, Soren expressed gratitude for the presence of so many senior leaders, calling it an "important occasion" for the state. He asserted that unity is the biggest weapon of people of the state, who can "neither be divided nor silenced"

What looked like an attack on the BJP-led central government, Soren also said whenever "they try to silence us", the revolution grows louder

"Our fight is firm and unceasing. The struggle continues and will continue till the last breath," he asserted

The city of Ranchi was adorned with posters celebrating the event, and schools in the city remained closed for the day. Security was tightened, and traffic regulations were enforced to ensure the smooth conduct of the ceremony
