Every year, the Economic Survey is presented in Parliament by the government the day before the Union Budget 

Offers an in-depth analysis of the economy and projects growth outlook for the current year

Under the direction of the CEA, the DEA's Economic Division prepares the report

The survey provides data about employment, GDP growth, inflation, and the budget deficit in addition to economic sector analyses

The survey was initially included in the Union Budget for the fiscal year 1950–1951

It has been presented independently of the budget document since the 1960s
