Chaitra Navratri Day 3: Goddess Chandraghanta

On the third day of Navratri, known as Gauri Puja day devotees offer prayers and reverence to Maa Chandraghanta.

She is a representation of peace, calm and serenity.

After Maa Mahagauri married Lord Shiva, she started wearing a crescent moon on her forehead and was then recognized as Goddess Chandraghanta.

Maa Chandraghanta is depicted riding a tiger with ten hands. She holds lotus flowers, an arrow, a bow, and a rosary in four right hands.

One right hand is raised in reassurance (Abhaya Mudra), while the left hand grants blessings (Varada Mudra).
