18-Year-Old Girl From Karnataka Becomes One Of Indian's Youngest Pilot
In a remarkable achievement, 18-year-old Samaira Hullur from Vijayapura district, Karnataka, has become the youngest individual in India to obtain a commercial pilot license
Samaira accomplished this feat after clearing six exams conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and logging 200 hours of flight training over a period of one and a half years
Her aviation journey began with training at the Vijay Yadav Aviation Academy (VYAA) in Delhi, followed by advanced flying sessions at the Carver Aviation Academy in Baramati, Maharashtra
Samaira’s early education at Sainik School and subsequent studies in science at Kendriya Vidyalaya laid a strong foundation for her ambitions
Her passion for flying was sparked during a helicopter ride organized by the Vijayapura district administration at the Bijapur Utsav
At just 17, she cleared five out of six required DGCA exams. However, the final exam, focusing on radio transmission technology, mandated a minimum age of 18, which she successfully completed upon reaching the age requirement
