As Delhi grapples with a severe water shortage exacerbated by soaring temperatures, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has announced stringent measures to conserve water resources. Effective immediately, individuals found washing cars with hoses, utilizing domestic water supply for commercial purposes, or allowing water tanks to overflow will face a fine of ₹2,000.
The move comes as part of the government’s urgent efforts to address the escalating water crisis in the national capital. With temperatures soaring, the demand for water has surged, putting immense pressure on already strained water resources.
By imposing fines for wasteful practices such as car washing with hoses and inappropriate use of water for commercial activities, the AAP government aims to promote responsible water usage and curb unnecessary wastage.
The announcement underscores the seriousness with which the Delhi government is approaching the water scarcity issue, emphasizing the need for collective action to conserve water and ensure equitable access to this essential resource, particularly during the scorching summer months.
