South Korean pistol shooter Kim Yeji, known for her stellar performance in sports, is stepping into a new role—this time as an assassin. The 32-year-old athlete will star in Crush, a spin-off series from the global film project Asia, a spokesperson from Seoul-based entertainment company Asia Lab revealed.

From Olympics to Acting: Kim Yeji’s Rise to Fame

Kim Yeji gained international fame during the Paris Olympics, not only for winning a silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event but also for her striking appearance. Dressed in a sleek black tracksuit and baseball cap, her cool demeanor led to comparisons with characters like James Bond. Her captivating presence quickly went viral online, making her a social media sensation.

Elon Musk’s Endorsement

Tech billionaire Elon Musk also noticed Kim’s impressive style during the Olympics and suggested she could be a perfect fit for action films. “She should be cast in an action movie. No acting required!” Musk wrote on X, in response to videos of Kim shooting during the competition.

First Acting Role in Crush

Kim will make her acting debut alongside Indian actor and social media influencer Anushka Sen in Crush. Last week, Sen shared the news on her Instagram, posting a video where she’s seen struggling with a pistol until Kim steps in to adjust her stance.

“So happy to collaborate with [Kim], Olympics silver medalist; the most popular Korean shooting player in the world,” Sen wrote, using hashtags like #Crush and #Moviecrush. She confirmed that both she and Kim will be starring together in this exciting “global project.”

Excitement Around the Project

Asia Lab, the company behind Crush, expressed its excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We are eager to see the potential synergy that will emerge from Kim Yeji and Anushka Sen’s transformation into a killer duo.”

With her transition from the shooting range to the screen, Kim Yeji is set to impress audiences with her acting skills, taking on a new challenge as an assassin.
