Anti-War Demonstrators Rally Near UN Headquarters
As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in New York on Thursday for his United Nations General Assembly address, protesters opposing the war in Gaza gathered near the UN. The group, comprised of Israeli and Jewish-led organizations, called for a ceasefire and criticized Netanyahu’s policies.

Calls for Diplomatic Solutions and Hostage Release
Phylisa Wisdom, director of the New York Jewish Agenda, emphasized that diplomatic efforts are essential to ending the conflict. The protesters also demanded the release of Israeli hostages taken by Hamas in October 2023, with signs urging “Bring the hostages home” and “End the war.”
Pro-Palestinian Demonstrators Join the Protests
In a separate demonstration, over 300 pro-Palestinian protesters gathered near the New York Public Library, criticizing Netanyahu and calling for an end to US military aid to Israel. Many carried signs denouncing Netanyahu as a war criminal, calling for him to be tried at the International Criminal Court.
