9-Foot King Cobra In Their Home

In Agumbe, Karnataka, a 9-foot-long king cobra was recently rescued by forest officers. A video shared by field director Ajay Giri shows the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS) team arriving at a house to rescue the massive serpent, which had taken refuge inside a bed box in the attic.

The family alerted ARRS after spotting the snake squeezing into the box. Giri and his team quickly responded, capturing the cobra as it flicked its tongue. The snake was carefully bagged and removed from the room.

On August 20, Giri’s team had also rescued a 9-foot-long cobra from a school pantry. After locating the snake under a table, they bagged it and released it into the wild.

The rescue operation was conducted smoothly, with a community awareness program held on-site. The snake was later released in the presence of forest department officials.

Ajay Giri frequently shares such rescue videos, and social media users praised the ARRS team for their effective and calm handling of these situations. Comments included appreciation for the team’s efforts and the handler’s composure.

Earlier, on August 9, the team rescued a 12-foot-long snake from under a car hood in Thattihalla. Additionally, an 11-foot-long king cobra was rescued from a house in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district and safely released into its natural habitat.
