Following their triumphant return from Barbados, the Indian cricket team arrived in Mumbai to a spectacular reception. Upon touchdown at Mumbai Airport, the players were greeted with a ceremonial water cannon salute, marking the beginning of their celebratory journey.
Earlier, the team had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi before departing for Mumbai in the early hours of Thursday morning. The reception continued as they were warmly welcomed at both the airport and their team hotel, with fans lining the streets to cheer them on.
Today, Team India has a packed schedule lined up. They are scheduled to attend a felicitation function organized by the BCCI at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Fans eager to join the celebration can enter the stadium for free on a first-come basis, with gates opened from 4 pm.
In addition to the felicitation, the team will embark on an open bus trophy tour across Mumbai, offering fans a chance to catch a glimpse of their cricketing heroes up close.
To accommodate the events, Mumbai’s traffic police have implemented restrictions, closing seven roads in South Mumbai and prohibiting parking on 10 others. These measures are aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow and safety during the festivities.
