The surgery, which was conducted using state-of-the-art robotic equipment based in Shanghai, involved Dr. Luo Qingquan, the chief surgeon, who operated the robotic system from his office while the patient was in Kashgar, on the opposite side of China. The entire procedure was completed in just one hour.
