In a video clip shared online, Amitabh Bachchan enthusiastically declared “₹1 crore,” to the sound of loud cheers and applause from the audience. He then invited Chander for a hug, saying, “Gale lagjaiyyye aap humare (let’s hug).” The caption with the post read, “Iss season ke pehle Crorepati, Chander Parkash ko hum sab ki ore se hardik shubhkaamnaye (Best wishes to Chander Parkash, the first crorepati of this season).”
In another clip, Amitabh revealed that Chander not only won ₹1 crore but also a brand-new car. Afterward, he posed the ₹7 crore jackpot question, but the video did not reveal the question or the outcome.

The pivotal question that earned Chander Prakash ₹1 crore was: “The largest city in which country is not its capital but a port with an Arabic name that means ‘abode of peace’?” The options were: A) Somalia, B) Oman, C) Tanzania, and D) Brunei. After using the ‘Double Dip’ lifeline, Chander correctly answered Tanzania, securing his win and becoming the first crorepati of KBC season 16.
Who is Chander Prakash?
Chander Prakash, a 22-year-old UPSC aspirant from Jammu & Kashmir, has faced several health challenges throughout his life, as reported by Times of India. At birth, he had an intestinal blockage, and over the years, he has undergone seven surgeries. Despite ongoing health issues, including the possibility of needing an eighth surgery, Chander remains determined in his studies and life.
