Many youngsters in their 20s tend to overlook the importance of regular medical check-ups. However, it is crucial to prioritize one’s health by scheduling routine check-ups recommended by the experts. These check-ups can help identify and address potential health issues early on. This article emphasizes the significance of specific tests and screenings that youngsters in their 20s should not overlook. Keep in mind that early detection plays a vital role in saving lives.

Youngsters in their 20s should prioritize their health to ensure they don’t stay hale and hearty throughout life. Investing in health would be the right time for them to ensure they are free of any chronic health problems in later life. Hence, youngsters have to be proactive when it comes to their health and go for regular tests and screening as recommended by the doctor. These are some of the vital tests that one shouldn’t miss in his/her 20s.
Cholesterol screening: It is a known fact that high cholesterol levels put one at risk of heart attacks in later life. So, try to keep your cholesterol levels in check. Take the tests as per the doctor’s advice and you will be able to manage cholesterol levels and keep the heart problems at bay.

High blood pressure: It is the root cause behind a stroke or heart disease. It is essential to check BP at home or in clinical settings and ensure your numbers are in the normal range, less than 120/80 mmHg.

STI screening: Those youngsters who are sexually active can have greater chances of suffering from sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea or even pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). So, be cautious and just opt for regular screening.
Blood sugar level monitoring: It’s time for youngsters to check their blood sugar levels with the help of an at–home glucometer or visit an expert for sugar monitoring.
Check haemoglobin: Many women have low haemoglobin levels and tend to experience heavy menses. Thus, check your CBC, blood count, and platelet levels too.

Vitamin D and B12 tests: A majority of youngsters lack vitamin D and B12 and experience muscle pain due to low bone mineral density. Take tests to know your vitamin D and B12 levels and opt for supplementation as suggested by the doctor.
Thyroid tests: In women, hypothyroidism or TSH test is carried out to know the levels of thyroid hormone in the body. It is better to get your thyroid checked and stay healthy. Take these tests in your 20s if you wish to improve your quality of life.
